You probably aren’t surprised to see another foundation review. Foundation is probably my favorite makeup product so I tend to do more reviews on those than anything else. Today I will be reviewing the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matter 24 Hour Foundation. Let me know if there are any foundations that you would like to see me review in the future! Now let’s get on to today’s review.
How long it lasts. As you can tell from the title, this foundation claims to last for twenty-four hours. This is a claim that I tend to see more and more often these days in the cosmetic industry. Every time I turn around there’s another 24-hour foundation on the shelf. While I am not someone who keeps their makeup on for 24 hours, (I mean come on, who really does) I will say that I have worn this foundation for up to around 16 hours, and it held up much better than I imagined. I will blot about twice a day with oil blotting sheets ( I suggest the Clean and Clear ones or for a more affordable option, the Up and Up brand from Target has some that are almost identical). Even at the end of the day when I go to remove my makeup, my foundation looks pretty good to have stayed on for so long. This foundation can even hold up through some sweating if you need to go to the gym but don’t feel comfortable leaving the house without makeup on. I wore this to many sports tournaments and was not disappointed when I looked in the mirror after returning home. I would absolutely suggest this foundation to those with oily skin, but if you are on the dryer side, maybe try the L’Oreal True Match foundation as I think that foundation would better suit you. I give the longevity an A+.
Coverage. Ever since I can remember, I have suffered from acne which totally killed my self-esteem. A little over two years ago I finally went to the dermatologist and got some help. Even though my acne has definitely improved, I have acne scars that were left behind. Whenever I leave the house, I prefer to have makeup on to cover those imperfections. The coverage this foundation gives is outstanding! It covers acne, acne scarring, and redness like a charm. If you have any imperfections you would like to cover, I highly recommend this foundation. I give the coverage an A+ as well.
Blendability. As I do with just about every other foundation, I use a damp sponge that is a dupe for the beauty blender. I find that this makes the foundation look the most flawless on the skin. When I tried to use a brush to apply this foundation, it made my skin look dry and unhealthy. I think you should especially stay away from applying it with a brush if you have any dry patches because I think that it would accentuate these areas. The foundation dries quite quickly so I apply and blend section by section of my face. It dries to almost a powder-like finish which is another score for us oily girls. I give bendability a B+.
Shade Range. This foundation has a total of 12 shades. At my natural color, I wear shade 102 (shell beige). From the shades I have seen, the majority of them seem to have quite a yellow undertone, with the exception of the first few shades in the line. Even though there are a good number of shades, I think undertones may become a problem for some people. I give the shade selection a B.
As always I hope you found this review helpful and you can use it either in the present or future. I try to cover a majority of the things I look for when thinking about trying a new foundation. If I missed something please do not hesitate to comment or email me and I will be happy to help!
